In civilian life Corporal Alfred James Denning used to be the principle of a grammar school in Pennsylvania now he’s in the army and he’s still teaching school. He’s still teaching the alphabet, the multiplication table and where the equator is the same as before only there’s one difference. He’s not teaching children anymore he’s teaching soldiers, soldiers found to be illiterate men who can’t be taught to fight until they can read and write.
