The Lord mayor and some of the other city officials will be passing by Madison High School at 2:30 this afternoon so headmaster Mr Conklin decides that to show them the school is civic minded the school band will strike up a stirring melody. However Our Miss Brooks has to look after arranging the instruments and unbeknown to her the instruments she borrows were trick instruments that had belonged to a kind of Spike Jones orchestra. Madison High were going to serenade the Mayor like he’d never been serenaded before!
