Marjory and Bronco have a dilemma with their building plot as a 150 year old oak tree is right where the house needs to go to enable them to have a back yard for the twins to play in. Gildy is pleased when he manages to get his neighbor Runsome Bullard to fork out $40 to have the tree removed. However then Marjory and Bronco discover a way to build the house and save the tree. Gildy has to tell Bullard the tree is staying but as Gildy has cashed his check Bullard insists the tree has to come down.
