The rose petal staircase was built long ago for beauty, marriage and happiness but now only a setting for tragedy for upstairs lies a man paralyzed, the only man the Colliper girls ever caught so the gossips say. Hubert Fulton guarded by the spinsters Claudine and Bertha and when a relative professor Fulton tries to move poor Hubert to a hospital the professor somehow has an accident and dies on the marble of the staircase.
