The Rooftop Murder Case began with the apparent suicide of Joe Somer. Philo Vance believing Somer was murdered has found substantiation of his theory despite the presence of a bonafide suicide note. In as much as Vance insists it is a murder D.A Markham knows they have three suspects, Tony Mester a racketeer, Alfred Dale, Somer’s partner and Somer’s widow.
