Jim and his friends are in Rio where they have rescued a medical missionary. After hearing his story, they have decided to go to his country, in equatorial Africa, to investigate the enslavement of the natives there. Meanwhile, a beautiful woman has tried to divert their mission, and send Jim on a fool's errand up the Amazon, and someone has attempted to delay things further by sending a deadly tarantula hidden in an orchid corsage.
