An ancestor of Mr Malvern’s who was a sadistic strangler and had been executed for his crimes was said to haunt the room in the East tower of the old mansion in England where it was said that he committed the crimes. Robert Christie an American from Missouri and his wife nicknamed Rockabye Baby wager a bet of $100 that they could spend the night in the room.
