Robert Benchley, Bill Robinson

Robert Benchley, Bill Robinson

Broadcast: December 20, 1936
Added: Dec 24 2022

A full hour of distinguished entertainment featuring Robert Benchley, noted lecturer on facts, figures and fancies, who gives instructions on how to wrap Christmas presents, this one being a small goat! Also appearing is the celebrated dancer Bill Robinson, star of stage, screen and radio. Hard act to imagine being on radio but when he taps you really visualise it.

The show opens with Frank Black conducting the NBC Symphony Orchestra with Rachmaninoff's Prelude in c Sharp Minor. Child singing star Bobby Breen sings Ave Maria followed by Rainbow on The River.

Fabulous show for lovers of opera
