Blackie is in John Reynolds' Jewelry Store. He is there to find a present for Mary and is joking with the jeweler about how simple Mary's tastes are, and that she would be angry if Blackie spent more than 10 cents on her. The jeweler suddenly pulls out a fantastic $10,000 diamond necklace and offers it to Blackie for 10 cents. When he sees the surprise on Blackie's face he quickly changes his mind and tries to pass his offer off as a joke.
