Jake Caldwell and Len Purdy had worked hard throughout their years together. They had seen stampedes and dusty drives over long trails. They’d known good times and bad, they’d quarrelled and each on more than one occasion had saved the others life but they’d never been parted and as they grew old the lived in a small two roomed shack some distance from town with their lifetime savings hidden in their home.
