Redheaded League

Redheaded League

Broadcast: 25th September 1964
Added: Sep 14 2010

Mr Jabez Wilson was a pawnbroker with very red hair. He recently took on a new assistant named Vincent Spaulding who agreed to work for half the wages of the other applicants. Not long after his employ he approached Mr Wilson with a strange advertisement in the newspaper for gentlemen with red hair to join the redheaded league and be paid £4 per week. It all seemed very strange but Wilson took on the position, which meant that he had to be out of his shop and at an office for four hours each day at the same time. After two months he arrived at the office to find it closed up and with a sign that simply stated that the Red Headed League had been dissolved. Mr Wilson contacts Sherlock Holmes to discover why someone would play such a prank on him.
