The last time Sergeant Preston saw Sam Higgins alive it was in the Gold Nugget bar with his friend Nate Smith who had a bright red parka. Nate was adamant that he wasn’t going to be mistaken for a bear or a moose by any hunters and be accidentally shot. Sam was working hard on his gold claim and brought some gold in every day. When Dave and Slim entered the bar and joined them Sergeant Preston felt there was something suspicious about them.
