At 3pm the day before, Spade had returned to his office and found a Mexican girl waiting, wearing clothes that had seen better days. Her name was Andreas Rios and she wanted to hire him but she only had $38. She took him to her father who spoke no English to find out more. She wanted Spade to spend the night with her father in order to be able to testify to his whereabouts that night. But what was about to happen that night why did Rios need Spade as an alibi?
