Elisha Merryweather or as she is listed in the society columns Mrs Albert Emmins Merryweather the III is having breakfast in her luxurious penthouse apartment in an eastern city. Her husband is away on business and when he calls to ask her whereabouts last night she tells him she was asleep and had just a quiet night at home. Elisha was really out with her lover and they were planning on leaving their spouses to be together. However her lover Bruce doesn't turn up at the train station as they planned. And as if things couldn't get much worse she witnesses a murder at the station and is afraid to testify as her husband will discover her infidelity.  She tells him that she had a quiet Evening at home.
