Jeffrey doesn’t want his aunt to tear down the old wall, the wall that has been on his mind for the past 5 years. It is one landmark he will do everything in his power to prevent his aunt from destroying. That’s because of what the hollow wall contains. Colonel Channing didn’t perish at sea, Jeffrey had killed him in a blind rage when he’d refused to loan him $5000 he needed. In the dead of night Jeffrey had placed his body inside the wall and sealed it up then he invented a story of him drowning at sea and everyone had believed it, that is everyone with one exception…
