When the Supreme Court turned down racket king Tommy Bara's appeal, Bara and his partners in crime were sent at once to the penitentiary. Michael Ecksford in the office of Brit Reid, young publisher of the Daily Sentinel was jubilant. He felt that since Bara and his men were in the clink, they would have a drop in the crime rate. But Police Commissioner Higgins, who was also present, disagreed. He felt that from now on every racketeer in the city would be trying to fight his way to the throne left vacant by Bara, and Reid agrees. What do they fear now? A gang war. (Reviewed by Kitty)
