Lamont Cranston otherwise known as The Shadow helps solve the mysterious disappearance of professor John Hardy who was last seen entering a black limousine and was accompanied by a heavyset man wearing a Vandyke beard and a tall slender woman of foreign appearance. Secret service agents are investigating the case due to the importance attached to the professor’s reported discovery of new type of explosive more powerful than any known to munitions makers in any country in the world.
