In the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, there's a painting entitled 'Portrait of Jennie', and out of that painting comes today's story. Eben Adams is a talented, but struggling, artist in the Depression era, and he has never been able to find inspiration for a painting - until one day when a mysterious girl named Jennie Appleton appears, and strikes up a friendship with him.
