It was Dotty Grant's singing that had made Ike Tuttle's cafe the most popular in town. But one night, after she was finished, Dotty was tired, but she went up to speak to Ike to let him know that her Ma had asked her to quit the cafe, now that her brother was working for the pony express and was bringing in enough money to pay all of the bills.
