Hundreds of innocent people are suddenly dying, poisoned by a man claiming to be the shadow. Then a note comes to the police signed by the shadow claiming to be able to single out people individually for death as well as at random and to prove it he will kill the commissioner of sanitation, Dan Brinkley. Lamont Cranston now knows it must be someone with a grudge against Brinkley. It’s time for the real Shadow to solve the mystery.
