Amanda Philips has come to New York City from Ohio hoping to become a successful actress. One can expect all sorts of things to happen to one in the Big Apple of course, but what has already happed to Amanda on her first day was very odd. She is staying in a ground floor apartment and met a man in the garden named Morley Norcross who told her he was a dramatic coach. Later she recognise the man she met in the garden as the man in the painting over the fireplace dated 1909.
