Two plunging, swaying stages, drawn by foam flecked teams, urged to their utmost speed by madly shouting drivers, race side by side on the trail to San Feliz. The two coaches careened around curves, dashed recklessly the length of straightaways, and seemed more than once at the edge of disaster when wheels approached dangerously close and threatened to lock. San Feliz itself came into sight and still there was no slackening of pace, until they reached the center of town. After finally stopping, a furious woman alights and gives a piece of her mind to the rival stage driver.
