George has spent the last six months in jail after doing something his crooked uncle Bert suggested and now he is back home on the grimy streets of London in Victorian England. His Uncle Bert however has got himself married to a rich widow Edna who has a weak heart and George suspects that he plans to kill her with rat poison to inherit her money.
