One Sunday Afternoon is a comedy romance which begins one quiet Sunday afternoon in a small Missouri town. Middle-aged dentist Biff Grimes reminisces about his unrequited love for beautiful Virginia Brush and her husband Hugo Barnstead, his ex-friend, who stole her away from him. Biff tells his friend Snappy that he will get even one day and his day may have come this Sunday afternoon when he gets an urgent callout to attend a patient at the dentist with an awful toothache and it turns out to be Hugo Barnstead.
