Abner and his wife Elizabeth finally got away on their trip to brother-in-law Fred's house to visit a distant and not particularly interesting Aunt. Abner was still reluctant to make the journey right up to the last minute, but his reluctance availed him nothing. As we look in on the little community today, we find Lum and Grandpappy Spears in the store.
