Tom Breef and Red Temple want to buy the saloon from Sam Noonan and Kitty. They offer to pay $10,000 now and $5000 each year for the next two years totalling $20,000. They want to settle the deal in two days. Sam thinks they would be crazy not to sell at that price if the deal was legitimate but Kitty is not so keen on selling and wonders why they are in such a hurry to buy.
