As the people who under the orders of Caesar are returning to their place of birth for the census, two shepherds on the hill above the town of Bethlehem hear the message from the heavens above...

"Fear not for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people, for unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you, ye shall find the babe wrapped in swath-ling clothes lying in a manger. Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace towards men of goodwill..."
