When Britt Ponsett arrived in the town of Virtue City he was surprised to see the bunting and banners up all over the place after all it wasn’t gala time. Gus Cotton a gunfighter had moved into town a couple of months ago and now he and his brother had taken over the town. Surprised that Sheriff Davenport would let that happen Doc informed Britt that Davenport had been killed in August in an accident and the reason for the Banners was that a new Sheriff and Mayor was due to be elected and unfortunately one of the candidates was Roy Cotton, Gus’s younger brother.
