Mrs Clinton always knew when Blond Miss Welsh was at home in the apartment above because she had her radio loudly tuned in on a bandstand. It never bothered her husband and when Mrs Clinton told him that Miss Welsh has caused a lot of jealousy in the apartment block her husband told her it was simply gossip from Mrs Bloomington in the apartment opposite. However Mr Clinton pretended he was going for a walk but was secretly meeting Miss Wells whom he was crazy about. Later when the radio was still blaring out after 10 pm the superintendent and Mrs Clinton go upstairs to complain and discover Miss Welsh dead and Mr Clinton unconscious beside her with a gun by his side.
