Messier Dupain has invited the police to his apartment to prove to them that the murders in Rue Morgue present no great insolvable mystery. He informs them that within one hour the murderer will arrive at his apartment as he has asked him to come. In the meanwhile Messier Dupain will explain to the gathering how he has arrived at his conclusion.
