Slate Shannon enjoyed an evening with Frannie Lane who was staying at his hotel and who he believed to be part of a comedy act Dixon and Lane. But she was more than that she was the wife of a convict Tommy Carver who was in prison in Havana. She was in Havana to pick up the money her husband had hidden but when Dixon realised this he wanted in on the cut of money.
