It was the ancient Greeks who believed that a man’s life was a thread and it passed through the hands of three goddesses who were called the fate. The thread spun by one, the design by the second and then there was Atropos who waited with the terrible shear and when she snipped the thread for a good reason or a bad reason or for no reason at all that was the end forever. Therefore everyone who takes another’s life also takes upon himself the mission of Atropos and since in a divine sense she is the only one who is licensed to perform that duty she may not take kindly to competition…
