One of the last radio series which commanded a large financial input because at this time radio was competing head on with television. Other programs were already using canned music but Freberg managed to persuade the people at the top that Billy May and his entire orchestra were a better proposition for a live audience in spite of the expense. Live audiences were essential to Freberg‘s stock in trade that was topical satire. This was the third show in the series.
