Carl Laughlin is a businessman and his wife Linda is concerned that he spends too much time at work and is neglecting his social obligations while Carl thinks that Linda is burning the candle at both ends. While out discussing this in the moonlight they see someone sitting in the sand. It is an old man writing in the sand but when they approach him the man ignores them and continues writing names in the sand. There is something about the man that disturbs Linda then he writes Carl’s name in the sand and suddenly Carl finds himself feeling ill and unable to breathe.
