At some time or other every man has promised to buy his wife a fur coat. Some men never get around to doing it, but there are other men like Phil who do, but wish they hadn't! When Phil finally managed to save the twenty two hundred dollars needed to buy Alice a mink cape, Elliot suggests he takes a woman along who knows about mink coats, sizes and colouring. Phil takes along Alice's friend Betty, who is blond and the same size as Alice, to model the cape. When along comes Phil's gossipy neighbor Mrs Stewart, she can't wait to tell Alice that she's seen Phil buying a mink cape for another woman!
