Lady Nottingham has sent for her majesty, Queen Elizabeth of England, to come to her bedside. Without hesitation, the splendid old queen hastens to the dying lady, who wishes to confess on her deathbed and ask for the queen's forgiveness. Wrapped in tissue paper, there is a ring which was lost a long, long time ago, one which the queen had designed and commissioned personally for the Earl of Essex. A strange story ensues...
