Paris in the summer is just as gay and just as lovely as in the spring, but like most big cities it is hot and crowded, not so much with Parisians as with tourists, the bulk of them as always, American. But there are other Americans in Paris too, and if they are ever looking for a familiar face they head down to Saint Germaine to the sidewalk cafe which is the crossroads of the world.
