The Lone Ranger and his faithful Indian companion, Tonto, rode toward a small settlement that had sprung up within a mile of the Eureka mines. Sharing the masked man's saddle was a young girl, aged around 5 or 6 who they had picked up close to the nearby swamps. They instinctively knew that the child's mother would be frantic with worry, so right now they are headed to a neat cottage at the settlement where they believe the girl, Nancy, lived.
