As Dr George Ferguson, intern, walked down the hospital corridor to his quarters, he was at peace with the world. He had just saved a man's life by quick and proper treatment. The world famous surgeon, Dr Hockberg, had chosen him to become his assistant as soon as he had completed his formal studies, and he had to often postponed a date with his fiance, Lara Hudson. Just as he turned to his room to dress for the evening, one of the older staff doctors advised him that he would have to stay in for the evening, to perform a transfusion.
