Men In White by Sidney Kingsley was his first play and won a Pulitzer Prize. The story is set in St Georges Hospital in 1933 during the depression and was the forerunner for many medical dramas. It covers many 1930’s medical and surgical practices and the struggle of one promising physician Dr George Ferguson whose dedication to his vocation in medicine costs him his social life and his fiancee.
