TP Gildersleeve has arrived in Summerfield to be the legal guardian of his nephew Leroy and niece Margaret. Relaxing after a hard weeks work as father, mother and big brother to the pair we find the great Gildersleeve explaining the finer details of baseball to Leroy. Meanwhile, Marjorie is preparing for a tea party to impress Ted Wills and has baked a special cake. TP and Leroy come home hungry and find the cake and decide to have just one piece each yes here the fun begins.
