Criminals realize more or less that at all costs they must leave little or no evidence of their crime. They realize that their safety depends on that and they will go to any lengths in their anxiety to accomplish that end, even to the extent of committing another crime to cover up or destroy the visible evidence of the first crime. But in their twisted minds they fail to realize that the second crime is left wide open with no covering whatsoever and capture becomes inevitable. The police are trained to piece together evidence and once this is done the crime is uncovered and its commission traced to the criminal.
