When Emily Barrett was 17 they called her that pretty little Barrett girl. She never realized then that five years later she’d be working in the library day after day and three nights a week. It all began after the death of her father and the demise of her mother and then the night she came home to find her terrier dead and a man in the house and her mother weeping.
