Vick Burnet the big man from Emmotsville is in town for a convention and has asked George Valentine to help one of his employees the young Laurence Ferguson because Laurence is locked up in jail for murder too confused even to defend himself. The trouble is though, the girl Laurence said he met for the first time last night, the night of her murder now seems to have been mixed up with Vick Burnet himself.
