Midwinter winds slashed through the main street of Dawson, and Peter David Carson, publisher of the local newspaper, as he made his way to Arnold Blenheim's bank. The clerk, a man named Slade, stepped up to greet the publisher. He's brought some gold in to be weighed, but it seems that Arnold wants to see Peter about the arrival of some heavy equipment in the town...
