The old fellows are happily engaged in playing nurse maid to their foundling baby. Lum's joy is dimmed only by the fact that Abner will not agree to calling the baby Little Lum, while Abner's happiness is marred by matters of graver concern. He still has not heard anything from Elizabeth, his missing wife and he is certain that his house has become haunted.
