The rift between Lum and Grandpappy Spears, caused by Lum shaving off the latter's beard, reached its climax yesterday in a bristling round of fisticuffs in which neither one of the aging warriors came off as triumphant winners. Right now we find Lum at his home talking with Abner on the telephone about him not going to work today because it's too dangerous - he's even taken to wearing a disguise so that Grandpappy won't find him.
