Lucky Jordan controls all of the rackets around New York, and he knows all the answers - except to a letter, drafting him to the war. There are no exemptions for Lucky (not that he didn't try!) and so he has to join the army - where he fits like a square peg in a round hole. He deserts, but will anything he has experienced have changed his ways?
