This is the story of school teacher Rebecca Wright of Winchester Virginia, who would not give her word to be loyal to the confederate army of Virginia, because she was faithful and loyal to the united states and worked for the cause of the Union. But then she had to chose between the love of her country or  betraying a man who loved her who was simply following his duty in the Confederate army by passing important information to the the Union.
