It's David Miller's duty as a citizen to be on the jury when he is called up but he really doesn't want to give up his time or have the responsibility of  deciding whether a man should live or die. The jury was hung six to five against the defendant and David was undecided.  It was all on him how long the trial was going to go on.

Howard Ingleside was accused of picking up lonesome middle-aged women, taking them home and then robbing them or blackmailing them. In this case Mrs Wilson's husband came home unexpectedly and was killed. Ingleside claimed that he was being framed and that he was innocent and now whether he was guilty as charged or innocent was all in the hands of David Michael Miller.
